Join us on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. as we celebrate our new office location. The event is open to the general public and will be held at 3117 Civic Circle Boulevard (near the Oasis Mall across from Target) in Marion, Illinois. Following a ribbon cutting ceremony and remarks, visitors will be able to tour the premises while a variety of hors d’oeurves and refreshments are served.
Greater Egypt is the owner and managing entity of the new location that also houses Man-Tra-Con and the American Job Center Southern Illinois. Established in 1961, Greater Egypt is currently celebrating 60 years of service to the community. Greater Egypt provides planning and assistance in the areas of economic development, transportation, water quality management, and multi-hazard mitigation within Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Perry, and Williamson Counties. Greater Egypt also provides administrative services for local, state, and federal programs such as Economic Development Administration grants, Delta Regional Authority grants, Community Development Block Grant, Enterprise Zone, and the Southern Illinois Metropolitan Planning Organization. Man-Tra-Con Corporation, a non-profit agency, has been providing no-cost workforce connections and training assistance to job seekers and employers for over 40 years. Federally funded by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act grant and sponsored by the Southern Illinois Workforce Development Board, Man-Tra-Con serves residents and businesses located in Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Perry, and Williamson counties. As a proud member of the American Job Center network and an Illinois workNet partner, Man-Tra-Con works with federal, state, and local community stakeholders to help promote workforce and economic development initiatives throughout southern Illinois.
The American Job Center Southern Illinois was developed to house multiple partners serving government, education, workforce and economic development organizations — providing a “one-stop” location for employers and residents to access services available to the community. The resource room — equipped with computers, Internet access, meeting rooms, printers and fax machines — is open to the general public from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
